The Loyola Film Circle (LFC) is the premiere film organization of the Ateneo. Now on its eleventh year, the mission and vision of LFC fuels and supports the organization as it continues to establish itself as an institution for holistic cinematic education.
LFC envisions the founding of a film culture which upholds the art and aesthetics of cinema and promotes the medium for social discourse and involvement. By improving the relationship of LFC members with film in its three facets -- appreciation, production, and critiquing -- the organization strives to advocate in the Ateneo artistic excellence and societal commitment. With these, LFC intends to produce members that will be able to contribute to the local film community and aid in the formation of the nation, its culture, and its identity.
As the vanguard film organization, the activities and events of LFC have aims to create and foster a film culture within and outside the university. In line with the organization's VMO, flagship projects such as the Ateneo Video Open, BlueScreen, Isapelikula, Fl!ck, and Under the Stars are just among the many activities lined up for the school year. Through the advocacy of film appreciation, exercise of film production and promotion of film criticism, LFC continues to build a community of individuals who share the same passion for film and whose relationships go beyond the end of the credits.
