Sales and Marketing
The sales and marketing committee is the corporate relations arm of the organization. Think of the acronym “LFC” as a brand name, much like Colgate or Starbucks Coffee. What we do is to create a world of demand around LFC-by creating a demand for LFC activities, we boost attendance, and by boosting attendance, we in turn generate demand for the brand from external partners and sponsors. One of the flagship projects of the organization, Under the Stars, answers exactly this need. Under the Stars is a Christmas festival of the arts culminating in a film screening. As an activity, UTS is designed to introduce the name of the organization to the general Atenean population. This develops the brand name, and hence, increases attendance to the other events we organize. The high attendance helps push corporate partners to sponsor the event, ensuring the sustainability of the organization for the years to come.
The sales and marketing committee is also responsible for generating funds to keep the LFC projects going. We do this through fundraisers such as food sales or gig series. Of course, because LFC is a film organization, most of our fundraisers are set up in the context of film.
But most of all, the sales and marketing committee is an opportunity to preach the good news of independent cinema to the corporate sector. It is through the sales and marketing committee that the world of financial and social security become aware that grassroots talents in the production, appreciation, and critiquing of film exist. By doing this, the sales and marketing committee effectively fuses the world of art and aesthetics with that of cold hard cash and free goods.
What is sales and marketing then? It is carrying the whole world of the Loyola Film circle on your shoulders. It is sustaining the organization by worlds of demand around it.
