Under the Stars
The Ateneo de Manila University is known to have graduates that possess strong and liberal background in the arts. It is no surprise then that the creation and appreciation of art is part and parcel of an Atenean’s life.
Under the Stars is a Christmas festival celebrating the arts, culminating in an open-air film screening. Various organizations promoting artistic pursuits in the university are invited to present, some of which are the Ateneo College Glee Club, Company of Ateneo Dancers, EnTaBLaDo (Enterteynment para sa Tao, Bayan, Lipunan, at Diyos, an Atenean Theatre Company), aMp (the Ateneo Musicians Pool), Blue Repertory (the Ateneo Musical Theatre Organization), and Heights (the official literary magazine of the Ateneo).
Attendance in the last Under the Stars numbered as many as the visible heavenly bodies above the JGSOM Open Field. Although originally packaged as a romantic affair, the event did not fail to draw lonely hearts and even helped eclipse social circles.
The project was also nominated for the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo’s breakthrough project for 2007.
